Privacy policy
This policy covers this website. It does not yet cover student records, because no students are enrolled; a separate student data policy will be published before the pilot cohort begins.
What we collect
- Updates list: the email address you submit, the role you select, and the page you submitted it from.
- Inquiries: whatever you choose to write in an email to us. The contact form composes a message in your own email client; it does not post your message to this site.
- Server logs: standard web request records kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with advertisers. We do not use it to build a profile of you.
Why we collect it
- To send occasional updates about the pilot, published findings, and scheduled visits — only to addresses that asked for them.
- To answer the question you wrote to us with.
- To keep the site working and defend it against abuse.
How long we keep it
Updates-list addresses are kept until you ask to be removed. Inquiry emails are kept as long as the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards. Server logs are retained on our host's standard schedule.
Children
This site is written to be readable by young people, but it is not a service for children to sign up to. We ask that only a parent or guardian submit an email address or send an inquiry. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child. If you believe a child has submitted information here, write to us and we will delete it.
Analytics and third parties
We use privacy-respecting, aggregate site analytics to see which pages are read. Where analytics are enabled, they are configured to avoid selling or cross-site profiling of visitors. Our website hosting and database infrastructure process data on our behalf under their own terms. Scheduling and payment links, where present, are operated by third parties under their own policies, which apply once you follow the link.
Your choices
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
- Ask for correction of anything inaccurate.
- Ask for deletion — we will remove it and confirm.
- Unsubscribe from updates at any time by replying to any message.
Write to hello@socraticguides.com for any of the above.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the change and its date will be stated at the top of this page rather than applied quietly.
