About KW Norton

An American citizen-scientist and patriot: someone who builds the instrument, runs the experiment, publishes the failure, and revises in public.

The posture comes first

Everything on this site follows from one commitment: a citizen may investigate. Not a credentialed office, not an institution granting itself authority — a citizen, working carefully, showing the method, and inviting the correction. That is the American habit this Academy is built to teach, and it is the habit the founder practices in the open.

The work has been assembled over years, mostly alone, mostly at odd hours, with computer assistance and independent verification wherever verification was available. It is a hobby in the strict sense — unpaid, self-directed, and pursued because the questions would not leave. It is not a hobby in the loose sense. The standards are the standards.

What that means in practice

  • Every claim carries a status label: hypothesis, pilot finding, or replicated result.
  • Every claim carries the observation that would falsify it.
  • Results that cut against the argument are published at the same prominence as results that support it.
  • Sources are cited so a stranger can check the work without asking permission.
  • Where verification was available — documentary, genetic, archival — it was used, and where it was not, the gap is stated.

Why an academy

The research that led here is genealogical and historical: a long archive of American lives, built record by record. What that work taught was not a set of facts. It was a method — how to hold a claim loosely, how to test it, how to sit with a question long enough for it to change shape.

Children are capable of that method far earlier than most schooling assumes. Socratic Guides is an attempt to find out how much earlier, under honest measurement, with a small cohort and published results.

Hypothesis — not yet tested

Students taught the citizen-scientist posture explicitly — claim, status, falsifier — will transfer it to unfamiliar subject matter without prompting. It is falsified if students in a matched comparison apply the frame only inside the domain where they learned it.

The written work lives elsewhere

The books, essays, and research archive are being collated and indexed and are not yet linked from this site. This site is the Academy only.

Status disclaimer. Socratic Guides AI Academy is not a licensed school. Pilot operations are in development and subject to Tennessee regulatory review and approval. Every educational claim on this site is stated as a hypothesis or a pilot finding, with the evidence that would falsify it. We make no medical, psychological, diagnostic, or guaranteed-outcome claims.
