Panel 1 — Cover

The guide asks. The student thinks.

Socratic Guides AI Academy. Franklin and Brentwood, Tennessee. A small learning community teaching children and adults how to think, not what to think.

Panel 2 — What this is

A trained human guide and an AI companion work with each student. The companion is configured to return questions, counterexamples, and structure — never finished answers. The guide decides when the question should get harder.

We speak to young learners in adult language. No mascots, no simplification theater.

Panel 3 — A day

Four instructional days a week, day use only. Each day: a seated block, an instrument block, an outdoor block, and a written revision block.

Music is the scheduling backbone and an encoding layer. Outdoor time is observation and walking discussion, in most weather.

Panel 4 — Where

Franklin and Brentwood, in Williamson County, Tennessee — a metro with an unusual density of educated families, teachers, and working musicians.

A day-use instructional site has not been secured yet; finding one is part of the pilot plan. No private residence is a school facility. We are not a retreat center, camp, or seminar venue, and we do not host residencies.

Panel 5 — The pilot

Twelve students in the first cohort, roughly ages nine to fourteen, plus a small adult track. One guide per four students. Fifteen months, with a published interim report at month eight.

First-year budget: $663,000, published line by line.

Panel 6 — Status and contact

Every educational claim we make is a hypothesis or a provisional pilot finding, published with the observation that would falsify it. We are not a licensed school; pilot operations are subject to regulatory approval. No medical, psychological, or guaranteed-outcome claims.
